Discover with VisitLocals hidden gems of Switzerland with some insiders’ tip

Switzerland is a country that is known for its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. But while the major tourist destinations such as Zurich, Geneva, and Bern are well-known, there are many hidden gems in Switzerland that are often overlooked by visitors. With VisitLocals, you can discover hidden gems and experience Switzerland like a local.

With us you can enjoy private and authentic travel experiences. Our local guides are passionate about their Tours and Adventures and have insider knowledge about the best places to visit, things to do, and local customs. With VisitLocals, you can experience Switzerland beyond the usual tourist hotspots and discover the true spirit of the country. One of the hidden gems of Switzerland that you can discover with VisitLocals is Haldi in the canton of Uri:

Haldi is perfect for spontaneous travel. You can reach the valley station of the mountain railway in Schattdorf in a short time by train and bus. After a five-minute drive, you're already there, enjoying a breathtaking view of the Urnarois Valley, Lake Lucerne and the surrounding mountains. Whether in summer or winter, the view opens up a wonderful mountain world.

Our tour combines a beautiful excursion and a goat trekking. Immerse yourself in nature and enjoy the company of the goats.

After a panoramic ride with the cable car Haldi, the trekking starts. The trusting goats, which walk along freely, carry a fine picnic of local products in their saddlebags.

On the Haldi there are a variety of hikes and beautiful picnic spots. You are welcome to choose a suitable route together with the guide. On the way you will get to know the nature and the individual characters of the goats and the guide will tell you a lot of interesting facts about the animals and about the beautiful area.

Next hidden gem is Horw in the canton of Lucerne:

Horw is located directly on Lake Lucerne and at the foot of Mount Pilatus and impresses with a beautiful view. With the lake, the unique mountain panorama, the idyllic peninsula with its lush green meadows and the proximity to the city of Lucerne make Horw probably one of the most interesting communities in Switzerland.

About the Jodeltour itself:

During the aperitif the guide will tell you the history and origin of yodeling and show you the history of the club. After that you are invited to the rehearsal of the yodel club. During the rehearsal you can sing and participate.

And some more recommendation to go next, away from crowded place and tourists:

Guarada

Towering above the inn, away from the valley roads and rail lines, Guarda gleamed in the sun. It fascinates and captivates visitors like an open treasure chest: Back in 1945 Selina Chönz and Alois Carigiet were inspired by the village to create the Schellen-Ursli story here.

Creux du Van

The Creux du Van, a naturally massive outcrop of a Rock environment, is located on the border of the cantons of Neuenburg and Waadt. With his vertical cliffs of 160 meters high encloses a deep circular valley over a mile long and over a mile wide.

All in all, Switzerland is a country that has so much to offer, and with VisitLocals, you can discover the hidden gems of Switzerland and experience the country like a local and can be sure that you will have an unforgettable and unique trip.
